Buried beneath tall dunes of seafloor sand, elevated by decades of channel dredging, the remnants of Goat Island now serve as the foundation for the spoils of the Port of Morehead City. Today, Goat Island is known for its large, cliff-like sandy slopes, long, shell-covered shoreline, large interior ponds, and vibrant ecosystem.

On our Goat Island Eco Tours, we’ll lead you to the island aboard a pedal kayak, to uncover the mineral and organic features of this unique hidden gem at the mouth of Beaufort Inlet. This four-mile pedal tour is paced to allow adventurers of all experience levels ample time to explore the destination and make fun memories!

Goat Island Eco Tours are available every day of the week with notice and regular tours depart every Saturday and Sunday at 10:00am, launching from the Trusty Waterfront Booking Station, at 815 Shepard Street, by the Transient Docks in Morehead City.

Experienced Trusty Sail & Paddle staff will be on hand for the duration of the event. A pedal kayak rental, paddle, personal flotation device, and professional guide service, are included in the registration fee of $65.
