Kayak paddling is a great way to experience nature, improve cardiovascular fitness, and build up maritime confidence. Crash Course Kayaks, a program by Trusty Sail & Paddle, is your gateway to the fun and engaging world of kayaks, no prior experience required.
We’ll cover all of the basics, from the fundamentals of operation, to reading currents, methods of re-entry, setting personal fitness goals, and beyond! Although total submersion is not anticipated, come prepared to get wet. Adult and Kids Sessions are available, and lessons will be age-appropriate. Our professional and experienced staff will provide personalized guidance, orientation, and assistance, throughout the duration of the program.
Kids sessions are intended for participants ages 7 to 12. Ages 16 and up must register for an adults session. Participants must be able to swim.
The registration fee of $85 includes a kayak rental, a personal flotation device, a paddle, and all necessary equipment, for the duration of the week. Kayaks will launch from the Trusty Waterfront Booking Station, by the Morehead City Transient Docks, at 815 Shepard Street. Sessions run Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.
